STORYTELLING IN DEPTH
Storytelling photography isn’t about buzzwords or clickbait. It’s about creating images that speak to your soul - the kind that make you smile, make you cry and make you remember how precious life is.

The Anti-Posing Guide
Figuring out the right pose can feel stressful and awkward when trying to take the perfect photo - whether it’s a family memory or a quick selfie. My #1 tip for capturing an authentic photo is to have your subject implement a little bit of movement. This can help your subject relax and feel more comfortable in front of the camera…

The First Baby Boy In My Life
This handsome guy is my nephew. And I’m so grateful we’re related because if we weren’t, I would most certainly not be cool enough to be in his orbit. He is nothing short of a beautiful blessing and I was given the honor of photographing him for his senior portraits which led me down this memory lane…

A Genie’s Magical Music
I was so honored to tell the story of Freddy Greene in the May issue of Raleigh's WALTER Magazine. Several friends have reached out to know more about how Freddy and I met so I thought I'd share a bit of the backstory. Our friendship began in 1998 when I was working in downtown Raleigh. I was in my first years out of college and hoping to make an impact on the world but finding that #adulting was harder than it looked.

Divine
Senior portraits are always special. These kids are filled with energy, enthusiasm and anticipation for their chance to fly. This night, God's presence was palpable. This beautiful senior chose her church, our church, for one of her backdrops and as she posed and I clicked away, we could hear the organ playing in the background as a service of worshop took place.

My Heart Soars
I have had the privilege of photographing dozens of seniors over the last fifteen years and I have truly loved them all. Even the most reticent seniors somehow come around and embrace their moment after we spend time talking about their journey and all that lies ahead for them.
